Summer 2013

Saturday, 31 August 2013

I'm not usually the sort of person to have 'amazing' summers or someone who wishes it was summer forever but, this year I do. I've decided to look back on things I've done between June and Now and I realized how much fun I had. I've been to a few different places, spoken to so many lovely different people and made a lot of memories with my family & friends! When I've not been with family, I've spent most of my time with my best friend Ella who without her, I would've done nothing this summer! I think the main thing for me about this summer is that I've come out of my comfort zone with speaking to new people and doing new things as I've never had the confidence before. Some of my favourite things I've done are I went to Leeds festival with Sarah, I saw a sloth (childish, I know), my holiday to Majorca because I spoke to tons of people and made friends with people I'll never forget, saw the vamps and chased their van (loooool) and the many days out with Ella! If any of you have some amazing summer stories please comment with what you've done as I love hearing about things like that. I hope you've all had good summers and good luck with going back to school!

Collective Haul: Holiday & York

Wednesday, 28 August 2013

Hello everyone, I know I've been away from blogging for about 3 weeks but that's because I've been on holiday! I couldn't blog whilst away as I was having too much fun with relaxing and everything. I was originally going to do a post about my outfits on holiday however I never had the time to take the pictures I needed. All the stuff from this haul is either from the airport, shops in Mallorca or from my shopping trip in York. Some things are treats as I did get my two exam results that I did early last week, I did do quite well so my family have been treating me. None of this is bragging at all I just really enjoy reading haul posts and I know most of you probably will do as well.

A Trip To Chester Zoo

Sunday, 4 August 2013

Hello everyone! So this isn't my usual 'beauty/fashion' post but I thought since it's summer and I go on a few day trips, I'm sure you'll all like to see something a bit different. So on Friday 2nd August I visited Chester Zoo with my Mum,Dad and my best friend Ella. You're probably all thinking 'Why do 14 year old girls want to visit Chester Zoo?' basically, we're 5 year olds at heart. Since I was little I've loved being around animals and I think I will always do. The main reason I wanted to visit the Zoo was because my favourite ever animal was there and I'd never seen one before in my life. That animal is a sloth! Even though the sloth wasn't really clear to see as it was sleeping high up in a tree, I was so happy to see one and had such a fun day with Ell looking at all the other animals and just being weird. I took a few snaps of the animals so I hope you enjoy!

So excited to see all the animals
Oh how I wish I had a pet sloth
The biggest butterfly I have ever seen
This was such a pretty Butterfly
'Its a hard knock life'
Just look at that face!
waddle waddle
Too cute

What can I say, it's a monkey with a mustache

July Favourites

Hello everyone! I've decided to do my July favorites as throughout the month I have been liking a lot of new things. All the products/things I mention I've been loving constantly throughout the whole month or part of the month, enjoy!

My first 2 favourites are something I'm sure you'll all be aware of, it's 2 of the Revlon lip butters in the colours 005-Sugar Frosting and 027-Juicy Papaya. I love these because they're so pigmented yet moisturizing as they act more as a lip balm than lipstick. I love putting the nudey pink colour over lipstick just for a subtle, glossy effect and the coral colour is perfect for summer.
My next item I'm sure you'll all be aware of yet again, as its the Bourjois Color Boost which are basically stick form lipsticks (chubby sticks). This is in the colour 01-Red Sunrise and I love it so much! The colour pay off is amazing as its so pigmented and it stays on for hours as its waterproof.

My next item is something which I've only recently re-discovered about 2 weeks ago because I've never really bothered with eye shadow since I always seem to mess it up. However, I've been trying more things out and this has been such a help! I put it in the crease and half of the eye lid, blend and then work some more colours around it. It's such a nice base and it stays on all day.

Another eyeshadow product I've been loving is this MUA single shadow in Shade 11. The main reason I love this is the price (£1) and it's such a pretty colour! It's shimmery but can still be worn for a everyday look as its not too full on.

This product has been my favourite thing ever this month! Its the Garnier BB Cream for combination to oily skin and it's been such a life saver. For about 2-3 months now I haven't worn foundation as I realised how bad it was for my skin and it just felt so heavy on my face. I found this product to be very light on my skin yet the coverage was medium which is fine for me. Its the only product I've ever found that lasts all day and doesn't make the colour of my face change throughout the day.

Since it's summer, I've been painting my nails constantly and generally using Barry M colours. These are two of the Gelly high shine ones which I adore! They look opaque with one coat and dry so quickly. I think these two colours are perfect for summer and I can't wait to use them on holiday.

As I said before, the sun has been out more than usual in England which has meant I've been wearing sunglasses more often. These are my new favourite pair as I love the rounded effect of them. These are from Tk Maxx but originially a brand called ESPIRT. I would highly recommend Tk Maxx for sunglasses as this brand retails at £50-£100 and I paid £7 for them!
This month I seem to have been drawn towards buying and wearing striped clothing. I have no idea why but suddenly I've developed an obsession with stripes! I think the trend is very chic as b&w stripes tie in with the monochrome trend which I've also been loving. Stripes are just an alternative to wearing a plain t-shirt as they make outfits more interesting.

One Direction - Best Song Ever (yes, you can all hate me)
