When will I be warm?

Saturday, 28 February 2015

Another day out, another battle with my greatest enemy that is the weather. I have come to the conclusion that hibernating until the temperate rises above 10 degrees is my only solution, I can't seem to think straight for being cold at the minute! I fell in love with this location on a recent trip out and thought 'why not shoot some pictures?'. Although my outfit is not exactly fitting to this 'street style' theme, a contrast is good sometimes? My lovely charity shop woolen jacket kept me cosy along with my khaki H&M jumper, I was all about being warm today. My topshop grey joni jeans are always my go to comfy bottoms along with my H&M chelsea boots. I hate getting to that stage in winter when you dress to suit the weather conditions, but I keep questioning, when will I be warm?

No silouhette

Tuesday, 24 February 2015

First of all, apologies for the overly pouty picture as I am not quite sure what went through my head when shooting that. Today was a good day as I received a parcel from Forever 21 which I'd ordered a few days ago and inside the infamous yellow bag were these beautiful jeans. I am so in love with the fit of these, the ripped details and because they're black. I paired it with this H&M slouched tee, gold stud necklace, UO moon watch and my Topshop slip-ons to compliment my red lip. These kind of outfits are my favourite on 'casual/I hate my figure' days as it hinds all your insecurities. You can't really criticize your body when you have no silhouette...

Peace and quiet

Thursday, 19 February 2015

It's times like these where I really do appreciate where I live and admire the beauty I generally take for granted. Hidden away up dirt track roads or public pathways I never fail to find amazing spots that I want to spend all day shooting pictures in. My trusty UO bomber jacket definitely kept me warm along with my trusty joni jeans, yet my cut out River Island boots and New Look cropped tee may not have been the best choice. I loved how the dull autumnal tones, even though it is mid-winter, complimented my khaki green jacket and really love the first shot. Sometimes I just like to try and 'adventure' even though it's only 10 minutes walk from my house, it's nice to get some peace and quiet...

We'll never be as young as we are now...

Monday, 16 February 2015

This past weekend has been slightly mental to say the least, I saw All Time Low & You Me At Six on Friday and Saint Raymond on Sunday. They were both amazing! Even though I spent three hours queuing up to get at the barrier for Saint Raymond I still didn't go dressed practically. My monochrome skirt is from Topshop, along with my jacket and boots. My basic tee is from H&M with my 'Pea in a pod' necklace from Etsy. I had such an amazing weekend and to top it all off the picture above (from the Saint Raymond gig) Callum used on his twitter and instagram @callum_sr , is that my claim to fame? He was performing 'As we are now' which is my favourite track, we'll never be as young as we are now...

Making it my own...

Wednesday, 11 February 2015

Monochrome yet again, what can I say? I find myself stuck in a continuous cycle or opting for monochrome pieces over colour yet as I'm typing this I have a khaki jumper on, that must count for something? I adore this crop top from Rosegal.com as it will be sosososo perfect for spring/summer yet I have managed to work it into my winter wardrobe, go check out this store!
My loved mom jeans are Levis, jacket from Primark and Topshop slip-ons add quite a mature element to this look without making it obvious. I'd say it's my attempt at trying to look 'chic' yet I just can't help to have my own twist on it and making it my own...

An outfit well loved

Saturday, 7 February 2015

I think it is fair to say this is one of my favourite casual outfits I've ever worn and that is a rather big statement! I've been in love with the whole 90's layered/denim/b&w grunge style (as I'm sure many will know) so that has definitely been reflected through this look. My favourite piece is the bralet/halter top I wore under my tee which is from Rosegal.com and I advise you all to go check them out!
The rest of my look is actually from Topshop except my favourite chelsea boots from H&M which are a must with black jeans! I just love the simplicity of all the small details, an outfit well loved!

Photography: A Road to Nowhere

Tuesday, 3 February 2015

This past week I've had the urge to go out and just photograph anything an everything, so that's what I did. I took some books from my Nana known as 'Photograms' from 1956 & 58 (will be blogging about soon), they showcased a range of photos that captured pure moments of sheer beauty. It's inspired me to tell a story with my photos. think outside of the box. These shots were taken with the idea of pathways in mind, showcasing the way we focus on whats ahead. No matter what you think, when you view these pictures you will be drawn into the same pathway as everyone else. I played around with parallel angles, winding corners and curved lines to emphasize that human nature is to follow the way ahead, even if it's a road to nowhere...
