Jacket: H&M // Top: Vintage // Pants: Forever 21 // Socks: Primark // Shoes: M&S Alexa Chung

We all know the 'oops' moments. The feeling of something not quite going right yet you do absolutely nothing to prevent it.
Life is trial and error but I hate the oops moments.

I spent a week away from civilisation without comprehending when I return I actually have responsibilities, my Duke of Edinburgh week definitely provided me with a little escapism even though it was to fields filled with sheep, cows and stubborn horses. Arriving back into reality came as a shock.
Uni, future, jobs, the rest of your life.
I find comfort in the escapisms because my mind is ticking tirelessly around thinking about all of the above, I don't want a recipe for my future.

I wore a Harley Davidson biker tee with glittery socks, abolishing all edginess this vintage tee provides. You could argue the ripped hem on my culottes show a slight edge, but lets be honest who could ever take the 5 year old out of Lucy Jane?

Ready for festivals

Wednesday, 15 June 2016

Top: Brandy Melville // Shorts: Boohoo // Jacket: H&M // Bralet: Urban Outfitters // Sandals: Topshop // Necklace: Forever 21 // Sunglasses: Forever 21 // Bag: Calvin Klein

Dressing for a festival seems to be something I've become good at. Although my outfit would be more fitting for Coachella than Parklife, I still love the effort us Brits make at festivals. Wearing a pair of gladiators is never a good idea with 2 feet deep mud puddles, but at least we never say never! We can't rely on beautiful weather for every festival so this has become my excuse for wearing festival looks on a daily basis. When I see a hint of sun I can't help but want to get out my prettiest bohemian print shorts and circular sunnies, it has become instinct!

As for festivals, so far Leeds is the only one on my agenda yet I would love to attend so many more. Music is one of the most beautiful things in life, being in an environment where everyone is in love with the music is one of my favourite places to be. I get lost in the music, the people and enjoy every single second of it! The mud, sweat and uncomfy camping doesn't seem to phase me, I am so ready for festivals...

Wandering with the parents and the pups

Sunday, 12 June 2016

Jacket: Charity // Top: Brandy Melville // Skirt: Vintage // Scarf: Vintage // Shoes: River island

It seems for the past two weeks I've had off college, the english summer has decided to be so kind to me which is a miracle! Days spent at the beach in the sun are so so rare in England, the fact I managed to spend two days there without being rained on is amazing. Something about the classic British seaside makes me feel right at home, the commercialisation still revolves around traditions of a bucket and spade, donkey rides and lots and lots of Mr Whippys. I don't think anyone from other countries could ever understand...

Red is my colour, if you flick through the majority of my past outfit posts I will be wearing red because I just can't get enough of it! This suede skirt was the perfect colour to match the classic reds of the tones in St Annes. I had a wonderful day wandering around with my parents and the pups!

Every year I set a summer bucket list and every year I fail to achieve everything, this year that is not happening. On the prettiest Thursday afternoon Staggy and I decided to spend hours doodling and drawing our perfect summer bucket list. Although I look like a lobster with a sunburnt engraving of my bra on my back, it was a fun afternoon.

' A moment where the beauty of nature makes me feel so happy, the birds tweets but not quite in sync  but where is the beauty in being exactly the same? '

Ten things I want to achieve this summer...

1.  Keep my blog updated often with the best possible content!
2. Visit different cities with my favourite friends e.g. Liverpool, Blackpool, London
3. Have a 4th July party (I'm sorry but I love America)
4. Attend as many festivals and gigs as humanly possible
5. Capture all the memories I share with my current friends and new ones
7. Go camping for fun, not for Duke of Edinburgh
8. Walk everyday with the best friends, music or family as company
9. Live in my shed for a solid few days

Summer is the time where possibilities feel limitless, the only time of the year where the stress of exams doesn't seem to be looming. I want to enjoy every little moment of this freedom I've got, I'll be an idiot and do stupid things but I can tell you now, summer 2016 is going to be a fun one!

Show Blackpool some love!

Saturday, 4 June 2016

Top: Topshop // Shorts: Forever 21 // Shoes: Topshop // Jacket: Boohoo // Sunglasses: Topshop

Cartwheeling round the beach, building sandcastles and listen to some absolute tunes with some of my favourite people, that is what summer is about.

We headed off to Blackpool with no plans other than to enjoy ourselves.
It was so fun to run around a beach feeling like my inner 5 year old, I was having a good time so I honestly couldn't care less. The 4 of us spent ventured up onto the pier after a few hours of the beach, straight after eating an ice cream we decided to go on the Waltzers. I tell you now, don't do it.
For years I've loved rides but this experience was one to put you off for life...
To sum it up, we were all nearly on the verge of tears, I thought I was going to faint and the controller of the ride thought it was funny to spin us faster.
Don't do it.

The classic rainbow of British seaside colours is definitely something I unintentionally matched my outfit with. With temperatures finally soaring into the 20's, wearing shorts is becoming a common occurrence and it makes me so happy! The British summer is definitely a hit or miss but so far we're doing pretty good, please don't rain!
I opted for a fun nautical outfit and fit right in...

I don't think Blackpool deserves the negativity it gets. Of course some bits aren't the best but everywhere has the good and the bad, ignore the media and show Blackpool some love!

How to fall in love...

Wednesday, 1 June 2016

Top: Zara // Bralet: Urban Outfitters // Pants: Boohoo // Jacket: Zara // Shoes: New Look // Belt: Mango // Choker: Boohoo

Putting items of clothing together can easily go so right or so wrong, everyones own opinion of whats right and wrong is different. We express ourselves individually. However, some outfits are so right in so many ways and to me I certainly hit the nail on the head with this look!

Red is such a statement colour that has always been a favourite of mine, it seems to make me look so much more interesting than I really am. The classic monochromatic look has been long gone for me, I throw on a hint of red and I look interesting! I won't lie, I have no theory behind my 'Red + Lucy Jane = Interesting' conclusion yet you have to believe me. It is a colour that fills me with confidence, therefore every chance I get to wear it, I will.
Red is always a good idea.

Onto to how to fall in love, there are two initial steps that do it for me...
1. A colour palette of red, white and black
2. A whole lot of delicate embroidery
If I fooled you I truly apologise, yet my love for this Zara jacket is so real! Every angle of it looks flawless, it can be paired with so many outfits and it makes me feel very very fancy.
I mean, who is going to pass up an opportunity to feel fancy?
