# Charity Shop Bop SS18 Trends - Crayola Brights!

Wednesday, 7 March 2018

Charity Shop Bop is a series on my blog that promotes a different sense of fashion. The fashion industry is a huge financial provider, yet is also creating so much waste that it's effecting our planet. Every year we create over 80 billion articles of clothing which is a ridiculous amount to even fathom.  With 95% of it being recyclable and 100% being reusable, why let it become waste?
My Charity Shop Bops are here to show the limitless horizons of reworking second hand clothing and that it isn't all 'old lady' stuff! Shopping from charity shops is more sustainable, a lot cheaper and also allows you to contribute to a variety of charities at the same time!
So get #CharityShopBoppin and let me see what you find...

Top: Kilo Sale (second hand) // Skirt: Depop (second hand) // Coat: My Mums (second hand) // Beret: Charity shop! // Shoes: Zara (I had to include them, sorry!)

Do you ever want to dress so obnoxiously that it makes everyone around you question what you're wearing? If the answer is YES then this trend is for you, the big, bold and beautiful SS18 trend that is Crayola Brights! The SS18 catwalks were awash with such fearless shades. Marni and Roksanda stood out for their focus on primary colours creating such strong colour palettes. Marni experimented by accenting blazers and jackets with blues, reds and greens whereas Roksanda used solid colours in their long gowns and matching two-piece suits. Both collections provided the vibrancy that our life needs when Spring/Summer roll around, creating the perfect inspiration for some brave outfits choices!

I have always been a bright red kind of gal, so with the focus being on the primary shades I knew this style was the perfect way to redefine the red pieces in my wardrobe. Around two years ago I found this beautiful vintage suede skirt on Depop, from then on it has been one of my most treasured items I've ever purchased as it's timeless and always looks so pretty. With its suede texture and unique cut, it definitely gives off slight Cowboy vibes which was another SS18 trend seen on the catwalks. Tucked to my ever so adored skirt is this black sequinned top which screams to me tacky 80s vibes, what more could I want? I picked this up at a vintage kilo sale as I thought it was too fun to not buy, I definitely do look like several tubes of paint erupted on me but I love it! The final pops of colour come from this wonderful cobalt blue beret and matching jacket. I am in love with this colour combination of blue and red, it's such a bold slightly childish statement but it's fun and thats what fashion needs to be.  I won't lie this coat is my Mum's, but I think we can class that as second hand for now.

This outfit is so bold, so daring and I 100% know people would look at it and think 'You think this is fashion?' but... I COULDN'T CARE LESS! Why bother wearing a trend like Crayola Brights if you aren't going to make it your own or most importantly, aren't going to make it FUN? Charity shopping these outfits gives me such a big opportunity to experiment with styles and thats exactly what I've done. I would quite like to think this outfit is a good representation of who I am; I'm bold, I'm brave and I'm very strong!

This Charity Shop Bop just proves how current the pieces you find in Charity Shops can be whilst still adding an essence of your own style. Bringing together second hand pieces gives them a new lease of life which is so much more exciting than the 'Jeans and a Nice top' Misguided feature.
(No shade if you love that, you do you and thats amazing! I just can't relate and want to try spread individuality and sustainability)
I hope I can open your eyes to the world of Charity Shopping and please tag me @lucysb_ on Instagram with #charityshopbop if you discover any pieces!
